Dr. Stacey Wilson-Forsberg is a Professor in the Human Rights program at Wilfrid Laurier University, where she also serves as Program Coordinator for Human Rights and Acting Program Director of the MA and PhD programs at the School of International Policy & Governance (SIPG), Balsillie School of International Affairs. Her research and teaching focus on migration and multiculturalism, with a particular interest in the experiences of youth with refugee backgrounds in education and the labour market, and migrants with precarious status across North America, Africa, and Latin America.
She leads a SSHRC-funded national study on the transition to postsecondary education of African refugee youth in Canada and has conducted international ethnographic research exploring social exclusion, belonging, and coping among migrants. Stacey previously worked in government and non-governmental sectors in Canada, the U.S., and Mexico, and continues to develop research connections in continental Africa.
